When Tracy Paine, a noted expert on aging services in the United Kingdom, developed plans to visit state-of-the-art senior services providers in the Northeastern United States, one of the places LeadingAge urged her to see was Parker Home.
Tracy received a travel fellowship from the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust to study state-of-the-art household, care home, retirement and specialist dementia programs, to review the latest technologies in the field, and to explore alternative staffing and nursing care models in Australia and in the United States. Tracy is the operations director of Belong villages, an organization in the United Kingdom providing a range of care, housing, and support options for older people. She is also a member of the Housing and Dementia Research Consortium based at Worchester University and a member of the Royal College of Nursing.
In her research tour in the United States in mid-July Tracy visited senior residences and dementia programs in New York City; Rochester, NY; Pittsburgh, PA; and Philadelphia, PA. She also made time to visit Parker’s homes in Highland Park, Piscataway, and Monroe and our Health & Wellness Center and Pavilion in Highland Park. The visit to Parker made a strong impression on Tracy and, in a follow up email, she warmly complimented Parker on its unique culture, its inclusiveness, and the best in class accommodations of Parker at Monroe.
